Karachi and MQM

After the events of May 12, 2007, I was really disturbed about what we all witnessed. I was recently in Karachi (before May 12) and talking to people gave me an impression that MQM was indeed doing good job. The events of May 12, just remind us the true reality on the ground. No matter what good MQM has done for Karachi, there are always these people who have something to complain about.

There is no doubt MQM shot themselves in the foot when they took up arms on May 12th against an armed group of people. It would have been wiser for the muttehda people to sit and relax at home that day. Let the EX-CJ do whatever he wanted to do. It is too late now so there is no reason to gripe about it. What is important now is to see what MQM local government is doing to clean its image. I am hoping that they will take measures to eliminate the dada-geri mentality and work more for the goodness of Karachi.

I was reading some comments about Karachi and here is something good that came to my attention that actually made me write this posting.... This guy was responding to someone who always has something negative about MQM...

"You know what is the philosiphy of ppl like you,
1. If anybody gets killed in Karachi and belongs to any other party other than mqm, then MQM is the one who killed him
2. If Mqm humdard gets killed, then he was going to change his mind so they killed him
3. If mqm workers get killed, then he wanted to leave MQM so they killed him
I am just wondering who are THEY?? If MQM workers are getting killed by MQM workers then who are those workers who killing other workers???
4. If MQM is in opposition, then you ppl cry that MQM wants to break Pakistan, they are against the Army, the Country, they destroying the peace and all they want is Strike.Strike is not the solution,,GHareeb marta hai..OHH my GOD Evil ppl
5. If MQM is in Government, then you ppl Cry they are with the dictator, Army unkai saath hai, Lets call a strike, burn karachi, shutdown...."
